Laborious

It’s time to decide your role in this town

so sit down son and stop clowning around

you can live independently or worse you can follow the crowd

you’re just another consistent seed on the green grass claims the bosses ploughed

we grow simultaneous, whilst everybody is different

we’re familiar, yet alien clambering up the cliff front

as the rocks crumble above into rain clouds spitting jagged stones

through this difficult mist there emerges unoccupied rickety thrones

scrolls of poems on the arms whilst the seat is covered in controversy,

a simulation of your dreams when they’re struggled for properly,

so if you ever sit there beware that life is played out ominously,

the exaggerated fears of condescending middle class property

so whilst i reside in a box, you pass by, i say hi

because failure is an option when you know you really tried,

so i respect the trying prosperous and the vigilant trying failures

because the opportunity is there on a sphere just waiting to impale us.

Life is laborious, homage due to working warriors,

scythe, sow, manufacture, polluted.

It’s laborious, homage due to working warriors,

liquid, sun, fertilizer, strong rooted.

The pickpockets stay pocket-less, so when they try and pickpocket,

they slide it down past their shirts but there’s no pocket so they drop it.

The terrorist loads his weapons with many deathly bullets

but there’s no hammer, so sure enough he can’t cock it.

This the imminent result of disreputable professions

rather obsessions with giving into national depressions,

i’m not pinpointing the only reasoning i’m just considering a factor

you want me to consult the other angles? well then go buy me a protractor,

the man that profits a thousand times from taking riches that don’t belong to him

will forever be undermined by the honest worker going out on a limb.

I tied a thousand extension cords around my neck so you can all connect

and help illuminate these problems and project a light that shines upon the disheveled

and corrects, i don’t mean to disrespect

but maybe i do at least you’re listening enough to even reject this.

I’m not trying to change opinions no i’d much prefer to simply open your eyes

to predicaments supported thinner than filaments.

Life is laborious, homage due to working warriors,

scythe, sow, manufacture, polluted.

It’s laborious, homage due to working warriors,

liquid, sun, fertilizer, strong rooted.

Some of them owned plantations, with 30,000 slaves

and if they misbehaved, well they just whipped them into shape,

and after abolishment they used the law to negate the law

and implemented the black codes – a political war fought by one man,

Jim Crow who made these people the lowest of the low,

a more humane way to suffer would be on the gold encrusted thrones of death row

yo, forced labour

under the name of the creator and whoever we made God is now DJ-ing with turntables and faders.

If i was around in 64′ I’d sign my life to civil rights wagers,

I saw a man sat beneath a lamp post

I can’t tell you if he was real, or a ghost

and when i heard him say he’d slain devils i knew his body was just the host

for a spirit entangled in enlightening himself to how far a man will go to find inner peace,

he personified the most

whilst his past out-casted evils personified the least.

Life is laborious, homage due to working warriors,

scythe, sow, manufacture, polluted.

It’s laborious, homage due to working warriors,

liquid, sun, fertilizer, strong rooted.
